Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Clear-Sight, from getting started to understanding your analysis.

General

Clear-Sight AI is a Chrome extension that provides comprehensive analysis of news articles in real-time. It helps you understand the full story by detecting bias, evaluating evidence quality, providing missing context, and tracking how stories develop over time.

Our AI-powered tool analyzes articles across ten structured metrics to give you a complete picture of how the news you're reading is constructed.

Clear-Sight works in three simple steps:

  • Install: Add the Chrome extension to your browser
  • Activate: Click the Clear-Sight icon when reading any news article
  • Explore: Review the comprehensive analysis in the sidebar

The analysis typically completes in about 2.5 seconds, providing you with instant insights.

Clear-Sight works with most major news websites and publications, including:

  • Major national news outlets (CNN, Fox News, NYT, WSJ, etc.)
  • International news sources (BBC, Reuters, AP, etc.)
  • Specialized publications (TechCrunch, Politico, etc.)
  • Local news websites

The extension analyzes article content regardless of the source.

Features & Functionality

Our bias detection feature analyzes news articles for potential biases in reporting, including:

  • Language framing and word choice
  • Source selection and representation
  • Perspective balance
  • Logic and reasoning quality

We highlight specific examples and explain how they might influence reader perception.

Ask Clear-Sight AI is our deep research feature that allows you to ask questions about any aspect of the article or related topics. It gathers current reporting, checks supporting evidence, and provides comprehensive answers with sources.

Use it to dive deeper into claims, verify facts, or explore related context that might not be in the original article.

Clear-Sight uses advanced AI models trained on extensive datasets of news articles and journalistic standards. While no automated system is perfect, our analysis provides valuable insights to help you think critically about news content.

We encourage users to use Clear-Sight as a tool to enhance their own critical thinking, not as a replacement for it.
